Let’s get started on how vinegar can benefit and transform your survival garden!

Give Your Plants a Boost

What you need:

  • ½ cup of apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of molasses
  • 1 cup of water
  • Tin cans (clean and empty)
  • Sturdy wire

Instructions:

Mix all the ingredients together. Attach sturdy wire to a tin can, pour the mixture inside the can, and hang from the fruit trees. The fruit flies will be attracted to the mixture inside of the can and will become stuck.

Fight Fungus and Mold

Are your plants suffering from fungus and mold? Try this easy to make fungicide recipe!

Deter Ants

Having trouble with ants getting into your garden? Try this extremely effective method!

6 Benefits Of Using Vinegar In Your Survival Garden

To deter ants, mix equal parts water and white or apple cider vinegar. Spray this mixture directly on ant mounds.

This also works great in the home. Simply spray at the entry points: countertops, door ways, windows, sinks, etc. Ants hate the smell of vinegar!

Deter Cats, Rabbits, Raccoons, Dogs, Deer, and Rodents

These animals detest the smell of vinegar! If you are having a problem with these unwanted guests, here is what you do.

Soak cloth rags in white vinegar for 1-2 hours then attach them to wooden stakes and simply place the wooden stakes throughout your garden. These unwanted guests will take one step into your garden and will quickly turn around and leave.

Kill Weeds

Pour straight white vinegar directly on the weeds and within 2-3 days they will die. This process may need to be repeated but, it beats the alternative which is buying store bought weed killer packed with chemicals.

Note from the author: The methods listed within this article are not harmful to dogs or cats. They hate the scent of vinegar, as mentioned above, but it will not harm them in the rare case they become curious and small traces of vinegar get on or in their mouth.
